I was excited to find an email in my inbox about the Vermont Farm/Food Business Plan Competition. The Strolling of the Heifers, which hosts an awesome agricultural-themed parade, and Vermont Technical College, which is unleashing a huge food processing program, partnered to offer a competition with $60,000 in prizes for farm and food business plans. There are three categories: existing businesses, new business, and student. Registration starts February 5th with a mandatory video workshop (available at regional locations throughout Vermont). Winners will receive support from the Vermont Small Business Development Center or Southeast Vermont Community Action.
